The Dallas Cowboys are favored by 4.5 points and 43.5 total points in the Week 7 edition of Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles. The matchup takes place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday, October 26. The game will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC, with streaming available on Fubo.

Philadelphia enters the contest after dropping four straight games following a 2-0 start. The roster is depleted by injuries, with quarterback Jalen Hurts ruled out after blood clots were found in his calf and lungs. Wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, along with linebacker Nolan Smith, are also expected to miss the game. Running back Saquon Barkley, guard Landon Dickerson, offensive lineman Jonathan Greenard, and safety Jalyx Hunt are listed as questionable to play.

Dallas arrives in a similar slump, having lost two consecutive games in poor fashion. The offense struggled against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers, combining for 29 points after scoring at least 30 in each of the previous three games. The Cowboys had been productive early in the season but failed to manage blitzing defenses in their last two outings. Quarterback Dak Prescott completed 20 of 38 passes for 194 yards and no touchdowns when facing extra rushers in those contests. The team also gained only 98 rushing yards over the two-game span.

The defensive approach of the Eagles may provide a different challenge for Dallas. Tru Media data shows the Buccaneers and Packers blitzed on 38.8% of Prescott’s dropbacks in Weeks 5 and 6. The Eagles have blitzed on only 24.1% of dropbacks this season, ranking fourth lowest in the NFL. Head coach Vic Fangio has employed such a high blitz rate just once since joining Philadelphia. The Eagles allow opponents a 60.4% completion rate and 7.0 yards per attempt but have given up eight touchdown passes while forcing only three interceptions.

The Eagles’ offensive line presents a vulnerability for Dallas to exploit. Philadelphia has recorded a sack, hit, or hurry on only 32.9% of opponent dropbacks. Quarterbacks have been relatively comfortable in the pocket, allowing them to utilize receivers like CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. The Cowboys have given up an average of 4.7 yards per carry to all opponents this season. If the Eagles can establish a running game, they may limit the offensive tempo that Dallas prefers.

In the absence of Hurts, the Eagles are expected to lean heavily on the passing game. Tanner McKee threw the ball 48 times in his most recent start. His career record under pressure is 16 of 45 for 179 yards without a touchdown. He faces a Dallas pass rush that has been inconsistent but could gain traction against a thin Philadelphia line. The Eagles may use Makai Lemon, Darius Cooper, and Dallas Goedert as primary targets if the Cowboys send defenders to disrupt the play.

The outcome depends on whether Dallas can convert their offensive struggles into points against a defense that has been porous in the red zone. Philadelphia’s secondary, featuring Quinyon Mitchell, Riq Woolen, and Cooper DeJean, has been effective but often plays without adequate pressure. The Cowboys must find a rhythm that differs from the previous two weeks, relying on the fact that the Eagles do not blitz as frequently as their recent opponents. The game offers a direct comparison of two teams attempting to reset their seasons in the division rivalry.

The Eagles have allowed opponents to average 4.0 yards per carry. The Cowboys’ running game has been inefficient, with Javonte Williams averaging 3.7 yards per carry despite having seven rushing touchdowns. The offensive line has not cleared lanes for the backfield, and Williams has not shown the ability to make defenders miss. The Eagles’ run game may be limited by the absence of Hurts, who provides a threat on the ground. The defensive fronts of both teams will determine the tempo and flow of the contest.
