Victor Wembanyama recorded 36 points and 14 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Utah Jazz 117-111 in overtime on Wednesday night in Salt Lake City. The win improved San Antonio's record to 3-2 while dropping Utah to 1-4.

Devin Vassell provided essential scoring down the stretch, contributing 17 of his 21 points after halftime. This late-game production helped San Antonio overcome an 11-point deficit at one point in the first half. Keyonte George scored a season-high 31 points for Utah but struggled with fatigue during the final minutes of regulation and overtime.

The Jazz entered overtime trailing 105-100 after Brice Sensabaugh and Keyonte George scored back-to-back baskets. Sensabaugh opened the extra period with a three-pointer, but San Antonio answered with a 12-0 run. The Spurs forced four turnovers and limited Utah to 2-of-7 shooting from the field during the overtime period.

Utah played without three starting big men. Jaren Jackson missed the game with a torn MCL in his right knee, while Lauri Markkanen sat out with a right wrist sprain. Jusuf Nurkic has not yet played this season due to a foot injury. San Antonio also rested Tobias Harris, who is managing a strained calf, but the team remains healthy for the upcoming schedule.

Wembanyama scored 21 points in the first half to keep the contest close, though Utah led 55-51 at the intermission. The Spurs will host Minnesota on Saturday, while the Jazz will face Portland at home on the same day.
