Securing a table at several of Los Angeles' most popular restaurants requires precise timing, as availability often vanishes weeks or months ahead of service. The Infatuation, a dining resource, has identified the specific windows when reservations open at eight high-profile establishments. These include Pizzeria Sei, Bad Roman, and Skywalker Grill, where demand consistently outpaces supply.
The restaurant industry in Los Angeles has faced a wave of closures recently, yet the most sought-after venues remain difficult to access. This disparity has led dining insiders to map out the exact mechanics of booking these spaces. The goal is to provide diners with concrete data on when tables are released and where walk-in opportunities might exist.
Pizzeria Sei, which expanded from its original Pico-Robertson location to a second site in Palms, serves Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizzas. Reservations for both locations drop at noon exactly one week in advance. Walk-in seating is limited, but availability improves after 8 p.m.
In West Hollywood, a three-Michelin-star restaurant with only 14 seats charges a $600 deposit for a 25-course, four-hour meal. There is one dinner seating five nights a week. Reservations for this venue release at 1 p.m. on the first weekday of each month.
Skywalker Grill sits atop the newly opened Lucas Museum. The restaurant features futuristic interiors and downtown views. Tables are frequently booked months in advance, but canceled reservations are released on the day of service. A limited number of bar seats operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Quarter Sheets Pizza Club in Echo Park transitioned from a strictly walk-in model to accepting reservations. Experts advise logging on at 9 a.m. two weeks before the desired dinner date. In Beverly Hills, Bad Roman releases reservations at midnight, 30 days in advance. Walk-in seats are available at the bar.
Holbox, a Michelin-starred seafood counter in a South Los Angeles food hall, offers an eight-course tasting menu only on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Reservations release at 11 a.m. on the first of each month. N/Naka, an exclusive Japanese restaurant with a $395 tasting menu, releases bookings on Sundays at 10 a.m., one month in advance. Diners can email the restaurant regarding last-minute cancellations.
Bar Di Bello in Solver Lake releases reservations at midnight two weeks in advance. Same-day cancellations may free up tables, and walk-ins are encouraged to arrive around 5 p.m. Restaurant Ki, located inside Bar Sawa in Little Tokyo, serves 12 diners at a time on a $300, 12-course menu. Reservations for the following month release at noon on the first of the current month. Dunsmoor in Glassell Park accepts reservations one month in advance, while its attached wine bar takes walk-ins.
